  • Doritos Pizzerolas – This Pizza Needs More Toppings

    doritos_pica

Generally, pizza-flavored chips taste like pizza spices rather than an actual pizza. And yet Doritos Mexico did a pretty good job imitating the flavor of our favorite Italian Food with their Pizzerolas. You can even taste the crisp fresh crunch of a (thin) pizza crust and smell the aromatic tomato sauce. It might sound weird, but I thought the product was too dry. I like my pizza juicy! But not too greasy!

Pretty sure a small amount of queso dip would easily fix this.

Bought in San José del Pacífico, Mexico.

    My rating: 6/10.

  • Doritos Sweet Chilli Pepper – Gimme More!

    doritos_sweet_chilli

Good old Sweet Chilli Pepper flavored Doritos (top pic – older version of the packaging design). Perfect when you can’t decide which ones to get for the lazy evening. While the chips are mouthwatering and flavor-packed enough to eat them on their own, they’re a match made in Mexican junk food heaven with a spicy salsa dip. It’s not my favorite flavor from Doritos, but it sure is one of the best. Not too spicy and perfectly balanced.

Bought and eaten in Amsterdam, the Netherlands and Kigali, Rwanda.

    My rating: 8/10.

  • Doritos Pure Paprika – No Suprises

doritos_paprikaDoritos NL don’t have any particularly impressive flavors, but at least they don’t disappoint. When there’s absolutely nothing new on the shelves of my local supermarket or I can’t decide what kind of chips I want that evening, I just go for any Doritos. It’s always a satisfactory pigging out experience. Pure Paprika is not my favorite kind, but I still like to have it sometimes (or when others are unavailable). The flavor is rich, salty, and not too spicy. I love licking seasoning off them!

Bought and eaten in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

    My rating: 7/10.
