  • Route 11 Chesapeake Crab – Salty Tears of Joy

The packaging doesn’t lie – they sure are salty and spicy. Very fucking salty, actually. They’re insane!

Are these the saltiest potato chips in the world? They possibly are! I’m really into salt and I liked the seasoning a lot, but even a salt lover like myself had to take a break after every 5 chips. My husband could only handle two at a time. On the good side, the mild crabby flavor was yum and not too fishy (my partner in crime couldn’t taste it though because of all the salt). The kettle cooked potato chip was perfectly crunchy.

All in all, if you’re into salty foods, just be brave and give them a try. Only consume with beer.
    Bought in Seattle, USA.

    My rating: 8/10.

  • Dorati Paprika – The Edible Time Machine

I just couldn’t believe my eyes when I discovered these in some supermarket in Tbilisi. The stuff is actually German, but I used to eat these on a daily basis when I was a fifth grader. Memories, memories. I would either buy the bag from an ugly Post-Soviet kiosk before school and eat it straight away. Or, alternatively, I would save my lunch money and buy the chips on the way home and, upon my return, eat everything in one sitting. I would only eat them in my bed, which obviously was already filled with crumbs. That was my crack.

Eating them in 2014 was an exceptional experience too. I have to say, the flavor of Paprika in Dorati chips is somehow different from the usual seasoning found in Paprika-flavored chips (the Lay’s kind). In a good way. I don’t know why, but it kind of tastes and smells German.

Bought and eaten in Tbilisi, Georgia.

    My rating: 8/10.

  • funny-frisch Chipsfrisch Oriental – Fuck You

Oriental? Oriental my ass… They tasted a little bit like tomatoes, a little bit like pepper and a lot like… old Tabasco? I guess I just don’t know what ‘oriental’ is. The chips were also fried too brown, which is never good. They also seemed very overpriced. Getting them in the middle of nowhere might be the reason.

    Tolerable, but not recommended.

Bought on the road in Germany.

    My rating: 4/10.
